Everything you need to know about Noblesville's Common Council Meeting on June 28

Common Council meetings take place at City Hall (16 S 10th St, Noblesville, IN 46060)

New ordinances have a two-part process in the Noblesville Common Council. During the first meeting on June 14th, the issue was presented and discussed. The second meeting marks the vote.

Second Meeting (Vote/Decision): 7PM on Tuesday, June 28th

In person attendance speaks volumes.

HOW TO PUBLICLY COMMENT:

  • Head to the second floor of City Hall to fill out a comment card before the meeting begins.

  • You’ll get 3 minutes to speak

HOW TO WATCH THE MEETING:

ORDER OF EVENTS:

  • The Council may ask questions to the petitioners, City planning staff, or the public remonstrators (us)

  • Any public comments (who haven’t already spoken on 6/14)

  • The Council votes

AFTER THE VOTE:

Please leave the building quickly and calmly as soon as the vote is done. If you want to express joy or disappointment, that’s fine, but please do so outside of City Hall out of respect to all parties involved. We agree this is an emotionally charged issue.

All that being said, it’s important to write to your common council members between now and the final meeting on June28th to urge them to vote “no” to the gravel pit. If you live in a city council district, you have a district member and 3 at-large members to contact.
